Hi all, I have a guy that is putting my MOD chip in and he just got done with it and he said that after he pluged it up that there is no Audio or Video... I have a FAT PS2 - 5001 with a version 9 board GH-023. I am using a MODBO 4.0 chip.. does anyone know what could be wrong? Someone told him that you can't use a MODBO 4.0 Chip with a version 9 PS2? That sounded crazy to me..
You're right to say that sounds crazy. I installed the modbo 4.0 on my V9 not even 3 days ago and it works perfectly. I have a few suggestions for you. . I believe this guy may have incorrecty soldered the chip (which is easily done without experience and a steady hand) He may even have dameged some components. Have him remove the chip to prove that he didn't damage the ps2. . If he seriously installed it properly than I say he should take a second look at wire H. H has to be connected on the NTSC version. I found connecting it to be very difficult as it is by far the smallest point. . Update the firmware to V1.93 as soon as you get it up and running if it isn't already on V1.99 (unofficial firmware) I hope you get it working. Best of luck
