Hello all, I bought a DriveKey today and I'm looking forward to it. But I was wondering...Since I have the latest firmware (3.4), will this modchip work? And if it does, how can I run homebrew apps with it?... Pardon my stupidity, but I'm totally new to the wii-hack scene. I've been using flashcarts on my DS for more than a year, but this is my first wii-modchip...So ANY help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Ok, most homebrew works just fine on a 3.4 wii. The homebrew that doesn't can be fixed by following the wii fix guide, available here as part of a downgrading guide http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=572be6275e9d6c80bf00c2b65e5f85c1&showtopic=112945 Note that downgrading is not necessary or recommended. As for a modchip working with a specific wii firmware... Hi and thanks...I asked this because I didn't find specific info about the DriveKey...Just some "Have you used the..." threads...Sorry if my question was redundant. As for HomeBrew...How can I use HomeBrew apps?...Do I need the homebrew channel specifically?...Or is there a way to just pop in DVDs with homebrew on it and play it directly?... Again...pardon my stupidity...But I really don't know anything about this whole Wii-Hack stuff... Thanks again!
Why not just try reading some of the many guide and "how to" threads in this forum? Yesterday, i knew NOTHING about Hacking the Wii, i spent one evening reading the threads on this forum and today I have a Wii hacked with Twilight as well as many of the homebrew apps and even played my first couple of backups....
