I've been reading thru the forums for a while, and got tired after reaching page 24, and not seeing a topic regarding what i want to know, so heres my question. I fried me xbox last night big time, however i was wondering could i transfer the mod chip to another console (XBOX tht is)? it is already compatible with all xbox version (V1.0 - V1.6...if their is a V1.0 ) so, i was wondering, could i just plonk it into a new console? oh, and would it be compatible with crystal xbox? the chip i am using is an AppleX Pro VI pro, or VIII pro - not sure. any help or rather advice would be much appreciated. Providing the chip is not fried, you can put it in any xbox you desire. The only thing that makes the difference between versions is what bios you can have and how it fits on the board. Crystal xboxs are v1.6 atleast, therefore you would need to flash your chip with a v1.6 compatible bios. Also on v1.6 you need to rebuild the LPC. Im not sure what size bios bank(s) the apple has, but make sure you flash with the right size.
The Chip is Fried...and i'm gonna be leaving me new xbox i just bought unmodded.....but hey! if i can get hold of a cheap second hand xbox i'll give all this a shot again! cheers dude
