Modded XBOX with EVOX - I can no longer access MS DASHBOARD

Hi Folk. When I first had my XBOX modded, I was able to access my MS DASHBOARD via System settings. This allowed me to change the time, play saved music, basicly do almost everything the unmodded machine did.
I recently lent my XOBX to my brother inlaw, It has come back not being able to access the MS DASHNOARD.
I can still use the EVOX menu.
But my wife only uses the XBOX as music machine.
Does anyone know the setting required to allow the MS DASHBOARD to work? My brother inlaw swears he and his mates didn't mess with the settings.
I have uninstalled the newer games to see if they changed the settings.
But t still comes up with the error screen re custoemr support.

 

Which error code did you get?

This will help pin down the problem.
You might have to reinstall the MS dash, if you don't have a backup, then you're gonna have to get hold of a sLayers disc.

 

It is a black screen with green text.
There is a large number "21" in the top left corner of the screen.
And the green text says:
"Service Required, Call Custoner Support"
It says this in 9 different languages.
The light on the xbox flashes red.
Also: Why would the MS dash work, and then stop working?
The only other thing that i have done recently was trying to network it with a friends computer. (I forgot this). Although we were not successful.
Is there a list of suggested responces avail for the system settings. As i am unsure if any of this was altered.

 

Alright I'm not 100% positive but I think this is the same error I got few months ago when I was installing evox all I did to get past this error was I unplugged all the controllers from the xbox (including the dvd dongle) I shut the xbox off and turned it back on and it loaded up normally. I'm not sure why this works but I did do it succesfully a couple time in a row. If you don't beleive me that this works thats fine I don't really care it's not my xbox. But I do suggest you try it.

 

maybe he tried to connect to xbox live thats what happened to me i think u have to recopy the xbe.default file not sure i forgot.

 

Boomsly I will give a try when the kids stop using it.
Also, I don't have XBOX live connected.
It's kinda frustrating.
But i will do as Boomsly suggests and let you know of the outcome.

if u can ftp (flash fxp) then go to c drive and you will c the dash boards the ms dash should be xboxdash.xbe
and evox should be evoxdash.xbe go to www.xbox-scence.com and double check and if worse comes to worse us fire fusker and slayer acutly i recamend this but u loos every thing u have to back up your harddrive

 

if you cant get to ms dash from evox look at the .ini file and make shere the links good

Strange how it stopped working...
Maybe when we tried to flash my XBOX, although it was unsuccessful, Perhaps some setting changed.

 

if you cant do any thing on your xbox you should jest use slayer evox auto installer or firefuckers auto instller

 

I should clarify.
The EVOX dash works fine...My installed games work fine. Games can access my personal soundtracks.
I have been modded for 6 months now.
It is only within the last few weeks that the MS Dash ceased working.
I have no way to connect my XBOX to a PC.
I have tried, but with no luck.
Will Slayer auto install if I place the disc in my XBOX?

but if you want go to www.xbox-scene.com and look on switching harddrives with evox and you can network with this or never mind what i said but its still an opption jest make another evox disk that u used and it will load the back ground
p.s make sher u ahve a updated bios try evox m7

 

team xavier auto installer is an older one but still great, has 4 ms dashboards on

and there bioses and 150 skins and all the modern dashboards

Do i need to install that into my XBOX via a PC.
Or can I download the program, and burn it on to a CDR and then place that in my XBOX and have it auto install?

 

get the download and it is a xiso file and u burn that to cd using nero and ya formate the drive and install it

 

i'm having this same issue.. my sister in law was trying to get into xbox live w/modchip ON.. i think maybe MS did something? anybody have one of them slayer or firefucker images i can grab?

i was able to log into irc and have someone send me a rar'd up copy of their C folder.. i backed up my C, copied in their C, and whala.. my system started working again.
