A friend of a friend modded my xbox about 6 months ago. Two months ago it started randomly turning off (which I just learned to live with). Now it wont even turn on. When I put my ear to it I can hear something start to rev. Another guy told me that it was probably the fan being dirty but i cleaned it as best I could but it didn't help. I'd appreciate any help you guys can give.
Well, if it sounds like it tries to starts, and then quits, I would think that something is shorting out somewhere. Tape up everything and look closely for any shorts and make sure every connection is good.
