Hi i bought a ps2 today and i would like to find out which Mod Chip i would need and which version my ps2 is. Its the SCPH-70001 PLEASE ALL INFO APPRECIATED!!!
if it is a slimline, it is a v12. i think scph-7000x's are v12, but i am not thinking to well right now. i would suggest the matrix infinity mod with the summone laser fix. i heard good things from a lot of ppl about this mod. and v12's need a laser vix.
Yeah you do have a V12 slim line PS2. As mentioned above, your best bet would be to get the Matrix Infinity as it's the most stable chip for the V12. The DMS4 Pro/Lite is also an excellent chip but it's not very stable for the V12 as it tends to make the V12s overheat for what ever reason/s - install at your own risk. It's also important to get the laser fix installed - a good modchip installer should put this in your system anyway.
SCPH-7001x = v12 SCPH-7000x = v13 Get a Matrix Infin, its reportedly more stable in the slim ps2s than DMS4. I don't think v13 ps2 needs a laser fix, but do more research anyways.
i heard v13 had a better laser and didn't need a laser fix just like jashsu said but again double check that fact.
FOUND IT!!!!! you have a version 13, however, you should still check whether or not you need the laser fix.
if you get a mod chip, just get the laser fix too it is only $10 for a good one, so that it worth it just in case. Then you are sure. Comsoft V4 Laser Fix or Summone Laser Fix are the 2 i would suggest if you get a chip.
v13 doesn't have a different laser, it just has a fix built into the motherboard. Other than that, the modem port has also been removed.
