Alright I need some advice on a very reliable modchip for a brand spanking new PS2, I am not that "stupid" so I won't be doing anything risky once the PS2 is modded...well maybe if some applications got in the way but it would be there fault and not mine.

Anyways I was looking at the Modbo but are there any other chips that are even more reliable? I was reading that the new patches where having issues on the slim PS2s. Also on the side note SwapMagic isn't much of a choice now since my discs are broken and I don't want to get another pair and having to send them back if there is a problem...for some reason I can't repair scratches by myself...I did it and it broke the discs somehow...

There is nothing wrong with modbo. The 745 is fairly new and is known for its reliability. Just once you get one in there dont change any of the settings would be my suggestion. They are decent enough chips. Sorry it took so long for someone to get back to you.

Another reliable chip is the Duo 3 Ultra. There are no settings to mess up and if all you want to do is play backups, it's perfect. Price is right too.
