i just finish putting the xbox working on the router with instructions using the map drive of windows xp, easy and working perfect. Now, im gonna tell you about some help that i need, i'm sure that you know about it. A friend of mine do something to the my retail xbox, dont know what he did, flash the bios, or put softmod or a program like evox, or put a new dashboard, i dont really dont know. The interesting thing is that he didnt open the xbox, he didnt put a mod chip inside the xbox, he only did programing thru a cd or dvd that he put inside the xbox. Here are the things i saw when he was doing the programing. 1. I buy a pre-owned retail xbox. 2. I went to his house. 3. The first thing he did, was put Need for speed underground 2 and did something about playing online. and the xbox configure himself for something. "preparing the console" 4. Then he put i think the Splitter Cell Chaos Theory and began like downloading something from the cd to the hardrive. 5. Then he put another cd or dvd and began copying file into the hardrive, and putting the programs like dvd2xbox, media center, dvd player program (region free), and when i turn on the xbox without any dvd inside, the xbox turn like ipack with sections like, my programs, my pictures, my video, settings (where i put the ip for the xbox) etc, etc,. 6. When he finish all that, i was able to play backups games. and able to record games to my xbox hardrive. 7. If i want another xbox to be programed to do the same thing as mine. He charged me $$70. Now, reading in this forum i was able to finally record my originals games (backups) using instructions about the map drive (ftp to xbox) and using the programs for creating a iso file (games) and recorded using Alcohol 120%. Everything is cool now. The only thing i want to learn is how to do the programming that he did??? to be able to programed the xbox (mod the xbox) and to be able to play recorded games (xbox games) without intalling a mod chip inside the xbox.??
