I been reading on and off since yesterday, I have a slim model SCPH-79001 and would like to install a modchip. First of all I cant even seem to find out what version the SCPH-79001 is LOL. nobody list it.

Can anyone tell what chip i need (I like the DUO3 Ultra) will it work with it? and where is a good place to order it from?

When you actually get to your mother board and look at it, you'll want to double check the GH number on it. But your ps2 should be the newer version 17-18. And yes, the duo 3 mod chip claims to work with it. There are a few other chips that should be compatible as well.

    Hope this helps.

The Duo 3 Ultra will work with ALL versions of PS2. I have installed many and ALL work great!
