I recently bought a new 17" CRT monitor and I noticed that when the entire screen is one solid color, the color will get more and more pale towards the outside of the screen. It's not extreme, but enough to annoy me. Also, in the corners of the screen the pixels seem fuzzier. For example, if I place the mouse cursor in one of the corners, it doesn't look as crisp as it does right in the center. Could this be a defect, or is it common?
For reference, the monitor is an LG 710S.

Shoot, I knew there was a PC hardware section. Spotted it after I posted. Sorry about that.
