after reading alot of the threads i was wondering about a good monitor to buy for games. I preferabbly would like an LCD monitor. i saw a thread talking about the hyundai Hyundai L90D+: its an 19"
how about some good 17" monitors for games?

what are some good crt monitors for good prices?

any feedback will be much appreciated

With LCD's you can get "ghosting" if the response time is slow, looking for a low response time is essential. I would recommend going no higher than 25ms response time, 16ms would be better.

A good 17" LCD (in my opinion) is the Acer AL1751A 17" LCD
it has a response time of 8ms.

also there is the LG L1740B 17" LCD
this has a 12ms response time.

However I am sure there are lots of different monitors which I do not know about which are better, Im sure someone will put you in the right direction.

That hyundai monitor looks very good also.

For gaming, you probably will want a CRT... resolution flexibility, no ghosting, etc etc. That is of course if you have the space, of course, but LCD's are nearly as good (one resolution though) but much more expensive.

For CRT's I would recommend the 21 inch Dell P1130 over everything else. Same thing as HP p1130 and Sony g520p. It does 2048x1536@80hz, and 1600x1200@100hz. Great color reproduction and sharpness, even 2048x1536 text is very sharp. Not to mention .24mm dot pitch, better than any LCD I've seen. I managed to get it for $147 free shipping on eBay. Just 2 years ago these were >$700.

I don't know what LCD's are good, but look for this:

    - >500:1 contrast
    - <.26mm dot pitch
    - <8ms response
    - 1280x1024 or 1600x1200

I've heard good things about the L90D+, though I've never seen it and it has .294mm dot...
