my cousin is having problems with his monitor apperently going into sleep mode when he starts to play a computer game. he said it was fine 5 days ago, and he also told me that he tried the monitor on a different computer and it worked fine, he reinstalled the game, he installed the newest drives for his computer. so im not sure what to tell him to look for. the only thin gi told him was maybe his graphics card isnt operating as it should. any help would be appriciated

it could be the game is trying to run in a resolution that the monitor doesnt support

That Too if it runs say 1024x768 on the desktop but the game is set to 1280x960 and his montor is maxed at 1024x768 then the monitor will crash

i had problems like that with my old crt. it would only show a picture if it was in the same resolution if it was higher or lower it would just go to standby and i would need to press alt and tab and then use task manager to close the game/app. i just got a new monitor as mine was old anyway.
