Everything played fine with same monitor and same ATI graphics card on other computer running Windows ME. Have new computer(ASUS A8N-E) but same monitor and graphics card running Windows XP. Monitor will turn off when trying to play store bought DVD(X-Files, Star Wars) using PowerDVD. Will play fine when I play a non-encrypted movie I backed up. I am using an older DVD/ROM drive and PowerDVD that is a few years old. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a dvd/rom upgrade is on the horizon. How about updating the firmware for your drive, and maybe the link below will help with UPDATES and PATCHES.(Right hand side at the bottom of page)

Yes, I just downloaded an XP patch last night for PowderDVD 3.0 which is the version I have. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I hope that will work, if not I will just buy a new version of PowderDVD. Thanks
