I recently build a computer for a pal of mine
2.2 GHz AMD 64, Nvidia 5500, 1 gig Corsair RAM, ECS Mobo
its all seated to the best of my knowledge,
but the video won't post on the monitor,
it just stays in power save mode, Ive tried swapping video cards and RAM, but it still won't post, and ive tried running to fans and no light to see if it was a power issue, please help

Remove the video card and test it in another system you know boots. If it doesn't, it's possible that card got zapped by static electricity.

Any beeps when the system starts up?

The first thing the BIOS will do is start up the CPU...make sure you've seated that properly with no bent pins.
