After putting my system to Standby Mode... I turn it on again, but the monitor does NOT wake up! The light on it goes green for a few seconds, then it just says "Check signal cable...", and nothing else happens... I know it's NOT a monitor problem. I've tried several different good monitors (all CRTs, including this one). They all wake up fine on other computers when using standby mode. The PC sounds like everything is powering back up like normal... But the monitor refuses to turn on :fou: :fou: :fou: :fou: :fou: My PC: ASUS Striker Extreme (latest bios) Intel Core2Duo E6850 XFX 8800 GTX XXX 2GB XMS2-6400 5-5-5-12 Xtreme 800MHz Corsair HX Modular PSU 620W Seagate ST3250620NS "BarracudaES Series" 250GB 7200rpm 16MB SATA2 Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 It's incredibly annoying. I want to be able to just put the PC to standby so I don't lose the data I'm working with and stuff, when I go to sleep for example... Now the only options I have is either leave it running (which is retarded to do if it just sits there and does nothing), or turn it off completely every time (which I don't want to). I've tried searching around - found nothing useful ... PLEASE help! I would really appreciate it...!
Z, It sounds as if you have hibernate set up. Even with the nice system you have it can take anywhere from a few seconds to minute or so for the monitor to come back on. It all depends on what processes were running when into went into hibernation. Check that setting under control panel/power options/hibernate. If thats not turned on let us know.
You just like it for the corsair power supply! I don't know how many times I've seen you recommend those sammorris lol. My mum's computer was doing this the other day but it just fixed itself as far as I know. Um.. I think I have read somewhere that there is a setting for USB devices having the "rights" to wake a computer from standby? Maybe for some reason it has become unticked on your keyboard/mouse settings. I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just blabbing. Found it. I'm using vista but it should be the same. http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8218/23382141mf2.jpg
No I don't, it's a decent spec system. True the RAM could be better, but it has a very powerful CPU and GPU, in addition to the good power supply.
His system as a whole. I mean, mine's overclocked but factory I think he'd win in the numbers. Never really was a fan of the Striker Extreme though.
