first post and hopefully i will get something usefull after searching net for nothing. i just hooked up my monster hd av kit to my tv and reciever. the picture is fine with the component cables but when i plug in my optical 1/8inch adapter i get no sound. not even a red light comming from the damn thing. i turned on the surround and dts settings in the dashboard but still no sucess. if it matters i am running a evo-x with mod. please i need some help!!!!!!
optical is very easy to break and once it's broken it's now a great whip but that's about it, you said you can't see any light if you were to shine a light on one end and then look at the other end? if you can see light then you cable should be fine, but even then it can be mistaken. Try that and get back to me i'm kinda tired so i can't think of other problems other than the optical is either not set up in your surround, or the optical port is bad but that is usually not the case. degalle
