Does anyone else believe the industry randomly seems to put different encryption on DVD's? If not the case why wouldn't everybody be able to use the same backup method?
@backedups Can be alot of factors but I don't think the industry puts different things on the same movie. One thing they do do is have bad copies come of the presses and this will cause problems. Usually an exchange fixes that. When you're using the right tools to handle it and get read/crc errors this can be the case. Then memebers are getting used to newer programs - setting them up right etc. PC configs, not keeping the pc pretty clean like having a heavy fragmented drive can cause problems. Older drives may not read the newer ones well or at all. List can go on. I was able to do both also w/ RipIt4Me (full). @movies2 No problems w/ that one either
OK folks, MONSTER HOUSE (US, Region 1) has tons and tons of corrupted tiny cells, bad sectors, structure, plus a lot of useless tiny junks, etc. Yes, it has the latest protections from Sony's ARccOS and Puppetlock. Sounds like Sony is getting tougher and nastier, so I highly recommend RipIt4Me (which is the most easiest for clueless newbies). **NOTE: the original DVD is 7.95GB. However, both RipIt4Me and DVDFAB Decrypter showed 7.16GB when it's completed. Isn't this ironic? Hmmmm... loaded with junks and craps. Again folks, I've tried 2 methods and both worked flawlessly so far. << Method A: RipIt4Me >> RipIt4Me is possibly the best free method ever. Yes... it took me roughly 26 minutes for RipIt4Me (including DVD Decrypter and FixVTS) to successfully completed. I highly recommend this awesome tool for newbies or those that don't have AnyDVD or other retail decrypting engines. **NOTE: make sure you guys have the lates RipIt4Me 1.5.3.0, FixVTS 1.6.0.0. **NOTE: for first time RipIt4Me users, make sure to extract FixVTS to C:\Program Files\FixVTS\FixVTS.exe or you can simply put FixVTS under plugin's folder via PgcEdit (it works this way too) C:\Program Files\PgcEdit\plugins\FixVTS.exe << Method B: DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.2.8 Beta >>> **NOTE: I'm a VobBlanker-holic, so yes I did process my VIDEO_TS.IFO file and blank out all useless junks, including "FBI Warnings, all Trailers/Advertise, Extras, etc." Not recommend for newbies, unless you know what your doing. For some odd reason the new DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.3.0 doesn't work. Yes, you hear me, it's true, it rips the movie until "VTS_22", then it failed to rip any further (I'm guessing it's because SONY has a few nasty craps inserted into those cells). I tested it twice before going back to 3.0.2.8Beta, this seems to work better for some reason. Well, DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.2.8Beta took 16 minutes to successfully completed. C:\Program Files\PgcEdit\plugins\FixVTS.exe that might be it i don't have PgcEdit version 7.4 and PSL plugin version 2.14 by the Mad Monk. what is that? i have the latest version of everything else ripit,fixvts, and tried dvdfab didn't work 30.30 any site have version 30.28 still?

I had the same problem with DVDFAB 3.0.3.0. After a couple of tries I reverted back to the previous version which worked fine.
I got ripit4me going and ran it along with dvdfab Decrypter and it seemed to run into problems at the same area.
I'm newbie to ripit4me. I extracted and ran it. Then it opened dvdfab on it's own and I got it started. No luck. Would not back up the movie. Can anyone give me a link to how to use ripit4me. I did one click but it even asked for drives I don't have. I entered the right ones and used the same TO file that somone said to use. No luck. Does ripit4me run in the background or should it be doing the whole movie on it's own? when everything else failed including latest versin of ripit and dvdfab 30.30 with whole disc and movie only i tried dvdfab platinum only whole disc failed and failed movie only i feel like i got the superhero version of the disc. i don't understand why dvdfab is not putting back up the 30.28 version which worked which i don't have

Alkohol - I got the movie to rip - put it into VOB blanker - blanked out all the crap - burned the movie and when it get to the end of the movie for watching it - after the credits roll - or are at least almost done - it freezes up. Any clue why? I did blank out VTS_03 that was 21mb and had a ton of stuff in it. The blanked out Menu PGC's 8 to 174. Got a ton of this "may reduce a non-working menu". I'm stuck -great burn just the end freezes up my DVD player.
@orion6192 What did you ripped it (MONSTER HOUSE) with? What media did you used and how fast did you burned? Freezing and skipping sounds like a media issue to me. Like I said on my earlier post that I used both DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.2.8Beta and RipIt4Me. Both ripped it flawlessly with the end result of 7.16GB. Since both of my sons loves this movie (MONSTER HOUSE) as much as OVER THE HEDGE, I have VobBlanker blank out everything (both movies ripped from DVDFAB and RipIt4Me), except the VTS_01 (which is the Menu + Main Movie) only. I transcoded via Nero Recoded with "Advanced Analysis + HQSR + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie", take out all Audio tracks, except the 5.1 Dolby English and English Subtitle. Quality is awesome, its Video Quality ratio is 97.1%, meaning it needs 2.9% of compressions to be transcoded only. Nero Recoded completed within 14 minutes, burned it with Nero Burning Rom, both backups came out perfectly, worked/played flawlessly on my 55" Widescreen SONY HDTV. Both backups has a running time of 1:30:36. Again, this movie has a lot of unnecessary junks, so I have VobBlanker blank out everything, but VTS_01 (the Menu and Main Movie). Look at picture fore reference. This is my backup via my hard drive only.
Alkohol - I did the same thing with the same programs - DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.2.8Beta; Vob Blanker (everything except VTS_01); Nero Recode - poof - movie! I always use Ridata +R and have never had any issues burning at 8x. It seems like it doesn't know how to get back to Menu once the movie is over. It does freeze - but acts like it's lost once the movie is over. I've burned 4 copies - same thing. Odd....
This movie has 2 false Chapters within the movie which can be blanked using Vobblanker.To find these run the movie through Vobblanker and click on the VTS that corresponds to the movie.If you scroll down the cells of the movie you will see 2 Chapters at the bottom of the movie files that are empty in space but will each run about 20 seconds each.Simply blank these and you will have no problem with this movie or other Sony movies.
