I have a Cisnet/Nascar NCL-3006 laptop - Pretty happy with it ! It has a internal Dvd Burner which is a NEC and this seems to work well so far ! I have'nt done any major burning only about 15-20 disc or there abouts . My question is If I were going to upgrade the laptop with DVD burning in mind would I be better off with more memory ( supports up to 2 GB's ) or to buy an external Burner Usb/firewire IEEE 1394? . I mainly use the laptop for general computing /and as a Back-up unit when the desktop goes KaPHlooey !!!!!!!! I have AnyDvd& CloneDVD on the laptop as well as nero & dvd Decrypter& shrink & fab but mainly stick with The Slysoft Proggies do to ease of use & familiarity ! well thanx everyone for your time & happy holidays & Peace Ciao!!!!!!!!!!

BIGTOXY69 Bro, I always belived in BEEF and IMHO the laptop burners are flimsy at best. I like your suggestion of 2 Gs memory and an external USB/1394 burner (beefier). Leave the occasional burning to the internal burner. Happy holidays.
