I know Nero not working with Vista is nothing new, but I really don't understand this one. I can install it just fine until after it asks me to install the Ask.com toolbar (which I say no to) and I put in the serial number. It then says "Please wait while Windows configures Nero 7 Ultra Edition" or something like that, then it says "Preparing to install" with a progress bar and then exits out, never to return. I've tried Nero Lite and that works fine but it doesn't have Nero Vision, which is the program I really want. Help plz?
I'm trying to install the latest version (7.10.1.0) and I used the Clean Tool. I have Nero Lite installed as of now and I'm using a AVI -> DVD program for the movies but it doesn't work that well. (It's Xilisoft AVI to DVD converter, unregistered, latest version)
Are you logged in as the administrator when installing? I haven't seen this complaint before. I have Vista and haven't had any problems. Installing over another version or even the current version is when problems usually occur. There may be a registry problem so you may want to run the Nero Driver Clean Tool/Registry Checker in addition to the clean Tool. You might also try going back to an earlier restore point and trying to install.
