Ok.. so I am doing a favor for one of my friends and it involves upgrading an old HP Pavilion notebook. 1.0ghz prcssr, 128mb ddr ram, 10gig ide hdd, floppy, + random other stuff but the important question is... i am getting a new hard drive and performing a clean installation of xp pro sp2. MY QUESTION IS THIS: where can i get the motherboard drivers if HP does not offer them in the support and drivers section of their website??? HP Pavilion N5250
Here ya go.... http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...sId=372916&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093 But your friend should really get a new laptop.

Ladies and Gentlemen.. the answer is simple and I'm very disappointed that my question could not be answered more directly. Upon my own trial and error enterprising, i have discovered that the laptop comes with an integrated onboard memory of usually 800mbs. this memory is directly responsible for installing and ensuring communication of hardware on any harddrive and preloads all software immediately. in otherwords, no motherboard drivers are required, only updates. again.. this is a sad day for afterdawn, but hopefully this question will not come up again-
Thats a little rude, don't you think? The other people tried to help you, I think you should appericate that.
oh no, don't get me wrong. i appreciate the help and attention. but it's unfortunate that nobody knew or posted such a common answer after have looked over it. anyways, i'm not looking for an argument and i mean no offense-
Hey, np. Glad you got your problem sorted out though, Fixing computers for friends is a pain in the ass sometimes. I know I hate it when they come to me, But I always help them out. Peace
It came off as a little more than rude, even your apology sounds a little rude. Icanbe, is right people took the time and effort to try to assist you should be appreciative. You got pretty much what you asked for, short of a BIOS link.
