i recently acquired an Ibm Netvista 23U-6341 desktop PC, with a fried motherboard. It's a socket 370 (Fru48P5062). Will any socket 370 mobo fit and/or be compatible with this machine? On ebay i've seen ibm motherboards for a netvista that look almost identical to mine, but with a different "Fru" #. I don't wanna waste my money on something that might not work, can someone help me please?? thanks

If the board you're considering has the right CPU socket and the same chipset as your fried board, it will work.

<---- somewhat a noob!!! what do u mean same chipset? and how do u tell if it does or not? what other devices would require the board to have the same layout as the one before it? won't a hdd, cdrom, or psu hook up to pretty much any mobo?
