i got a new ecs motherboard G31t-m for 26.96 on ebay. what are the pros and cons for this mb. I going to use a intel e2140 cpu I have
"motherboard".. very helpful.. yes.. that's right.. a computer does need one XD I find the older asus ones to be pretty reliable.. don't know much about new ones.. apart from they seem very cheaply made and unreliable.. not like the hardware of 8 years or older vintage.
There's a stark contrast between Asus then and Asus now. A company know for its quality becomes popular, and because it's popular, reduces its quality to make more money. That happened to Asus in about 2006, it's starting to happen to Gigabyte now, but hasn't quite taken hold yet.
Same with Abit; they used to make a best overclocker boards on the market...back when the Pentium 2 was king and the celeron was overclock champion...Now they specialize in micro-atx econo-boards! ECS is a bit different...they have always made the worst boards around (through the 1980's & 1990's, they often left their name & the model number off of the board because people felt more comfortable with a generic board than with an ECS board!). Your board is all CONS, no PROS. Good luck, you will need it.
