First off I am running windows xp. I downloaded Motorola PST 6.xx, and after installing the program and the patch, it says its not compatible with the windows service pack I have. Hoping that it would still work, I ran the program, and tried several different ways of getting it to detect my phone, but nothing worked. Would a newer version of PST such as 7.1.1 work, and if so, where can I get it at?
What was the error message when you installed pst. Was it about your service pack being newer than the patch you are tring to install? If so that does not matter. You should still be about to run pst & it should find your phone & you should get found new hardware pop ups. Then you need to install all the drivers. See how the install java on my site. I take it you want to enable (java app loader) on your phone. Click link below
Hey man, you are the best. Everything is working fine now! Some mod should put your website under the "New To Motorola" Sticky. Thanks again!
if you want to install PST without the service pack error...go to properties of the pst.exe file and set it to run on windows 2000, then install
The only problem I have now is where to find java games that are the right resolution for my v80. I checked the links on your website, but nothing really helped me. EDIT: Ok, after a little trial and error, I found that V400, V500 and V525 games work ok. Does anyone else know what games would work too?
Yes the V80 has a 176 x 220 res screen like the V400/V600/E398 & many other moto phones. So any game in that res should run o.k. Best to check the game out on the moto emulator first to see if its worth uploading to your phone. Cheers
Ok, everything was great at first, but now I get this damn error when trying to use midway: Opening JAD file.............[OK] Connecting the phone.........[OK] Transmitting data blocks.....[OK] Completing transmission......[OK] Opening JAR file.............[FAILED] JAR downloading failed. I've tried other jad's too. I think it has something to do with the drivers I installed to use PST, because it asked me to install them again, and I just hit cancel. And now PST doesnt ask me to install the drivers anymore. Any suggestions? I've already tried re-installing PST, but it never asked me to install the drivers again. EDIT: Ok, I fixed the midway problem, but PST is still being stupid.
You can uninstall pst now you have java app loader enabled. Midway doesn't use the pst drivers it just uses the motorola usb modem drivers which mobile phonetools installs. So as long as you have mpts installed & working midway should work.
