the only way to view the date on the screen is to remove the provider tag. when you remove the provider tag the date will appear.

the easiest way to remove provider tag is by using motorola-tool to edit seem 0032_0001. go to the "miscellaneous" section and turn provider tag off.

OK, lets begin by recognizing I am pretty much a neophite at hacking into phones (or anything else for that matter). For dummies like me, can I ask what exactly I will need to perform the process of eliminating the 'Cingular' tag on my V220's homescreen and replacing it with the date? What tools or programs would I need and where can I get them?
Thanks for helping a really green beginner!

I'm sorry, but i don't understand this jargon. And i have some questions:
Is Motorola-Tool a software application? And if so, can it not be done with MPT v3.25?
Does anyone have a link to the download site? and how easy is it to install?
Will it conflict with the use of my MPT, cos my world would end if MPT crashed again. ( I've had a right job, getting it run correctly, for lots of reasons, which are too many to go into!)

Thanks for any help in advance.
