Firstly, apologies to higher authorities, I've looked around and can't find a relevant thread. I've also failed to get the Search to work (so I should be in the DVD-R for thickies forum?).

Using a Pioneer 105, Bulkpaq G4 x2, and DVDXCOPY (with Nero 5.5.10.15). My movie backups are great on the Pioneer, but my other DVD drive (Matshita SR 8586) won't even recognise that a backup is in the drive. My player (Thomson) pixellates and skips 2 or 3 minute lumps at a time.

Beats me, but I'll admit that ain't hard to do! Hekp!

i wonder if there is a reason they
    call it matSHITa.

I could get dvdxcopy with nero to play on
my liteon but not on my stand alone apex ad-1201. same with dvd2one and nero. tried
instant copy and all is well now. Also Im
gonna try record now max instead of nero
    to see if that helps

    Bad media mate

Buy something decent and they should work fine in anything that supports them

You surprise me Malum, I'm very new to this, but thought that bad media either wouldn't write to or would play back just about as badly anywhere.

Nope, some players are much more fussy than others when it comes to bad media. Skipping and freezing is a sure sign of bad media. The 105 wil always read what it wrote so even the cheapest crap will play in that, the standalone will be much more fussy.

Get some decent discs and the problem will go away. Bulkpaq are awful. Get some datasafe with the purple Ritek dye.

Also only burn at 1x if you are having problems.

Spot on Malum, Datawrite Yellow did the trick. I had seen them mentioned by several people, and they are as good as they say.
