I'm using Nero 6.6.1.8 to burn backups of movies. The only problem is that when I watch the movie it gets kinda jittery and jerky about 45 minutes into a movie. This lasts for about 15 minutes (off and on) and then the rest of the movie is ok. It happens the same time in every movie. I burn at 4x with Verbatim blanks and never use the computer at the same time as it's burning. Anyone have any ideas what's causing this? Thanks, Wes
My brother was burning the same movies with the same media that I was (Taiyo Yuden 8X -R). His movies were freezing and jittery, mine were fine. I bought him a new DVD burner to replace the Phillips that came with his Dell and the problem went away. I bought him a Pioneer DVR-110. If you are not getting any error messages and then you may want to consider a new burner. Also, Verbatim is good media but you may want to try something else, like the T-Y. Problems like this are probably not caused by the program, but either with the process of writing the data to the DVD or problems with playback of the copy. That's why I mention the burner and the media as possible culprits. You can always post a Nero burn log as well. That gives us a chance to look over your process and see if anything is out of the ordinary.
The version of Nero 6 you are using has a few bugs, I would recommend you uninstall that version, run Nero General Clean Tool and install this bug free version http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe @fastfrank, good to see you posting. I like your choice of burners, I have the DVR 109. Nero6 and Nero7, some versions have a few bugs and causing problems. Recommended versions are for Nero6, above link, for Nero7 http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe
@Gwen, I like my 109 although my burn logs seem infested with "queue again later" messages. Does yours do that? My Sony doesn't but my older Pioneers all did that as well. Does not seem to be a problem though. I have to get another 110 because the one I got for my bro has a beige bezel and his Dell needs a black one. I'll swap him and replace my perfectly good 109. I seem to collect these Pioneer burners, I've got a 105, 106, 107, 108 and the 109. I could buy about five 110s for what I paid for one 106. Amazing. I took a trip to Southern California so I was absent. It's good to be back but I wish I could have stayed longer. I like the climate this time of year.
