Movie Channel Protection

    Hi,
    I just bought a Sony RDR-GX255 DVD recorder and it's got some copy protection on it preventing the recording from the Premium Movie Channels. Anyone have a way of getting around this or should I just return it and buy "last years" model.

    Is it the Recorder with the protection, or is vice versa, the channel protected?

    Well, I checked with a couple other sites and I've been told that it's the recorder. My Samsung I had a couple of months ago had no problem recording Premiums.

    I would look for an exact example of your same old Samsung on Ebay, and return the new unit. Its a hassle but what the heck probably worth the effort.
