I got a movie. It is an xvid with ac3 audio. I first tried to play it, and it was trying to download a codec, so only the video played. The video would keep playing no problems. So I put on ffdshow, open the movie. The sound sounded like chipmonk voices, so it was like really fast. It woould then crash after a few secs. Ive tried in all different types of players with all the same thing. I even tried on my other computer with the same result. So whats the problem? The second problem is that it includes subtitles how do I make the subtitles play with the movie? They are .sub files, and there is a .idx file. The first question is more important, I wanna watch the movie!

Burn it to a cd and play it on another computer... usually works

I actually figured out the video and audio. The problem was that it was ac3 audio. I downloaded a program called "ac3 filter" I think it was called that. So now what the problem is, is that I dont know how to view the subtitles. It is a .sub file with the same name as the movie file. For example "movie.avi" and the subtitle file is "movie.sub" There is also an idx file.

i know that there is a player called bsplayer (www.bsplayer.org) that will play media and subtitles in .srt. So I would suggest converting your .sup's into .srt and play them w/ bsplayer. This takes mere seconds to do. Forgot the name of the subtitle converter, but a search for it isn't hard.
