My family has several old videos we had put onto DVD. Is there a way for me to take sections of different parts of the video, so I'd be able to email them to relatives? I hope I'm explaining correctly? The DVDs range from 2 gig up, so obviously I can't email that, I'd like to be able to break it down into 9MB segments or something. Thank you mangia
you can use the free dvdshrink to cutout the scenes you want. Next use a converter program (avidemux) to convert that file to xvid (this will make your video small enough to e-mail without losing too much quality.) If this is a one time task you need to do, you can use the demo of videredotvsuite to cutout the scenes (you get more accuracy with this program). The demo can save the file as a mpeg2 (easier to convert). The demo will let you save a clip shorter than 30 minutes (demo limitation)
Thank you for your response. This will not be a one time thing, as there are many films. I'm kind of confused though, am I suppose to convert to xvid or mpeg2? Will videredotvsuite take care of every step I need to do or do I srill need avidemux? Thanks again mangia
