I made a copy of a dvd movie and noticed irregularities when playing in different dvd players. I used DVDFabExpress and Verbatim DVD-R media. Does anyone know why this happens?

What was the movie, how fast did you burn, and is the firmware up to date on your burner? Pausing, skipping, freezing and pixelation are all caused by to fast a burn, out of date fw or bad media. You are using decent media so check out the other two. Try burning at 4x and checkout your burner fw here.

Thanks...I was trying to play Just Like Heaven. It was burned on a Dell desktop at 8x. And you are correct! It does freeze on some occasions. Does this mean that I should begin burning at 4x instead?

Try burning it at 4x and see if there is an improvement, is your burner once that came with your Dell or one that you bought. Because you should make sure the fw of the burner is up to date. Just Like Heaven does not have any special protection on it so you should have no problem on playback.

The burner came with my Dell. However, I will try burning at 4x and see if that solves the problem...thank you very much.

Check at the Dell site for any updates for your computer. Plug in your service tag number and you can see if everything is current. Good luck :)
