Can anyone help..i have 2 halves of a movie i have encoded to mpeg-2 they both play great individually, as soon as i join them using the mpeg tools within tmpeg plus the second half goes badly out of synch. the process i use is exctract audio using virtual dub, then load avi and wav into tmpeg plus then encode for an hour and a half or so..but in this case i repeat this process as i have 2 halves. or should i join the 2 halves first and then encode it as one ? Thanks. Gymrat.
This is a Very Common Problem with the "Mpeg Tools" in Tmpgenc... The only thing you can do is use a Different Program to Join your Files together... I suggest you Try "Womble Mpeg2VCR" as it is one of the Best Mpeg Editors/Joiners and will never give you sync problems.... Cheers
It is fairly yeasy to figure out... If not there is a guide in the guides sections of this site that will explain it or you can just ask.....Cheers
Hi again. well i have read the guide on how to join but i cannot seem to make head nor tail of it..for instance it asked me to move marker to where i wanted to add the FIRST file to the second one..and then record...i cant even find the record button..help im lost.
You pressed Copy (C) button when you opened the first half of mpeg. When you opened the second half and trackbar is left, drag the copy of first half from the clipboard window onto second mpeg and press OK. Then move trackbar far right and press Mark Out button. Press Save (Z) and write file name, choose MPEG-2 Program Stream and press Save.
Thanks stardust..i have done excatly as you said..it has been merging together for 1 hour so far and it is 40%..is this normal ?
If it takes any longer than a couple of Minutes to Join then it is re-encodeing the files which is should not do if both halves are exactly the same.... The easiest way to Join 2 Files in Mpeg2VCR is to go to "Tools" to "Video Clip List" and then load in the First part and then the second Part and then click "OK" and then click the "Save" button and that is it..... Try it that way and see if it still tries to re-encode the files....
Thanks minion Thats done the trick brilliantly..thanks very much for your help..and also to stardust. Cheers Gymrat.
