Hello everybody, Could you please help with the following? A friend of mine has made me “avi” copy of a DVD disk. The copy plays good on my PC but when I try to play it on my standalone (Philips DVD player that reads virtually everything) the movie does not play smoothly but rather runs by frames. It looks like more pictures are being shown one after another. Besides, I see a bright (mostly red color) vertical bar on the right side of the TV screen. I tried to run the copy through VirtualDub but it does not show any video error. Can I do something to fix the copy? The copy is made on Taiyo Uden DVD disk. If any additional information is required, I am ready to provide it. Thank you!
Just because 'anything' plays on the PC it isnt ever a guarantee it'll play on a dvd stand alone player ; ) And as to this What exactly did he use to do this (by the sounds of it DVD-Rip) avi-dvdr ? Is it perhaps PAL (25fps) and hence not playable on your dvd player [again it wouldn't be a problem for PC] ? For sure , it wont be the discs fault .. Taiyo Yuden are the best !
If it is a DVP642 then it doesn't handle close to everything. They have trouble with qpel, 2/3 warp point GMC (maybe 1 to?), CQM's, N-VOP's, high bitrates, higher resolutions, etc.
Tahnk you, guys! I have to check with him what he used for it. As for theplayer it is 5900. I am going to try AVIDefeezer. Hopefully it will help.
