If I decide to put some of my mp3 tracks from one folder to another and convert them from 128 kbps to 320, will there be a better quality of sound or will it stay at 128? Thanx everone.

No, you can't add quality to an mp3 file. You would need to add bits of information to the file in order to do this. As a matter of fact, even if you were to reencode it to 128kbs it would be of a lesser quality than the original. Any time you reencode a mp3 file you lose quality.

yes as digidave mentioned, you cannot create a higher quality file once it is already compressed at a certain bitrate. if you have the original CD, I highly recommend starting over and re-ripping your CD collection. Try using EAC (exact audio copy)...its the best (and free) ripper there is, period. And when combined with the LAME mp3 encoder using VBR (variable bitrate) 256kbps settings, you will create the best quality mp3s possible. check out the link in my sig below to our guide of how to install, setup, and use EAC and LAME.
