I've tried several applications, e.g., Roxio 6, Roxio 8, Nero, and can't get the Mp3 files to burn in the order I want them to. They seem to go in alphabetical order. I've tried the tools that specify the order to burn, but they don't work. Evenutally, I had to put A,B,C,...etc. in front of all the titles to get the order I want. Any idea why the files won't burn to the disc in the order I specify?

    Thanks

If you burn the titles one by one?

I have same problem with nero. It's usually with compilation albums. When they are in a folder they are all in correct order, but when i try to burn them with nero they go in random order. The only thing i can do is drag them into correct order in the nero window - but that is a complete pain in the arse.

I've never tried one by one. Is that possible? Is there an option not to close the disc until I've finished?

I've tried moving mine in the nero window too, and they still burn in the wrong order.

files burnt to CDROMS are always going to be in alphabetical order. Thats just the way it works. If you want to change the order, you could rename the filenames and place a "1, 2, 3, 4...) as the first character of the filename, then it would be in the order you want.

Thanks. But why would Roxio have the function to change the burn order (even though it appears not to work)of the files if that is the case?

I'm not sure, I don't use Roxio, I use nero. Perhaps you can change the burn order for an audio CD, and it just randomizes the files. But for an mp3 CD, or any other CDROM/DVDROM for that matter, are all put in alphabetical order.

If you want to rename your files, and place numbers in from so you can put it in the order you want, try using Tag&Rename. It is a great mp3 tagger and file renamer program.

Thanks a lot! You're probably right about it being for audio CD ordering.
