mp3 is a form of compression, so basically you can't further compress losslessly. That said nothing stopping you from further degrading quality by compressing to a lower bitrate, either by changing formats (say ogg vorbis or aac) or simply re-encoding to a lower bitrate mp3. Plenty of freeware (eg. foobar2000) for it to, some will even transfer the tags over for you.

It should have helped you realise what a load of crap the software is. You shouldn't even be trying to steal it.

If you really want to re-compress your mp3's try dbPowerAmp or foobar 2000. Really to recompress mp3's all you need is lame.exe.

Works fine here. Select files, select convert to.., select mp3 (lame), it warns about transcoding lossy formats. Asks for lame.exe, browse to where it is located (if you don't have it, visit rarewares.org) and select output folder.

For you though, you are probably going to want to add some new mp3 presets. v0.9 seems to only include -V2 --vbr-fast by default. This makes sense since it is generally regarded as the optimal setting, however for you the bitrate is probably too high. -V5 --vbr-new would probably be better. Just select add new, then use the slider to select a VBR preset. If you want CBR, then you will have to set it up manually. Still you only have to do it once.
