mp3 disks burned in Nero won't play?

Hi Forum Members:

I'm confused. I don't know if my burner has had the biscuit?

I usually use Nero to make mp3 disks for my old-time radio shows (more to a disk) and have had no problem playing them in a new Sony boombox (mp3 player).

The past couple of weeks, I've burned in iTunes and Nero several more disks (mp3 format) and they will not play at all in my Boombox.

Quality of disks are fine, speed is fine, no errors. I checked my old mp3 disks (burned about 6 months ago in Nero) and they play fine! It appears only recently burned cds are not working (iTunes or Nero).

I'm complete confused as to what the problem might be.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Suggest you burn the files with Imgburn to see if the problem persists.
If it's gone then it might be Nero - if it persists, then Nero is in the clear.

Thanks for your note. I did suspect Nero as well. Therefore, I've done an uninstall with the clean tool and re-installed Nero 6 - Startsmart OEM Version (have the updates from Nero's download page).

I'll see what happens when I burn some mp3 disks?

I've never used Imgburn. Do you prefer it over Nero. I ask because I was thinking at one point to upgrade by old basic Nero 6 but I've heard lots of problems and bugs with Nero 8. Of course, they've just released Nero 9.

I need one really good burn program that Windows Media Player could use and one for copy dvds, cds, create mp3 and data disks, etc.

also you may want to consider cdr type, burner type, and speed at which they are burned....these can all have an effect on the ability of another device to properly read the burned cdr.

I still have to make some adjustments to my Nero but I believe the problem was with my brand new mp3 player (boombox) from Sony.

It appears that it is not reading any mp3 cds. It's already had the biscuit.

Purchased a new mp3 boombox during the Boxing Day Sales and it is playing all my mp3s cds so far.

Try burning your disks at a slower speed, as a rule I burn music/MP3 disks at 16X or so, seem to work on all my CD/car and home MP3 players.
I use Nero 7 for MP3 disks by the way.

I just re-installed my old Nero 6 just in case it was corrupted.

Since then, my burn speeds are limited to 16x or higher? Even with the disk in the driver. Driver is up-to-date with current software. Normally, it will show speeds less than 16x as option.

Is there a way to adjust this within Nero?
