okay im such a retard. But Ive been searching forums and many threads here with broken or dead links or vauge answers.
My problem is that I want to set a music clip from a song to a ringtone. Now I know that programs such as Audacity and LAME has been repeated. But Im still confused because It's not working D:
so maybe someone can help me as to where I have gone wrong. Am i putting my mp3 files in the wrong folders? Does it just not work in general? if someone could provide a mini tut that would be great. Thanks in advanced :]

what mobile phone are you using?

if your phones supported mp3 files into ringing tones you can set the mp3 song into a message alert tone.but if your phone dont support mp3 files into ringing tones...then its really a big problem.

but if you wany you could go to phillipines and go to greenhills shopping center, and i know for sure you could convert your phone into a new application that supported mp3 files into ringing tones. =)wahehehe!!!

I'm gonna say the same thing, but I could be wrong. As far as I've seen, the phone would need to be reflashed with older version of sony ericssons software, lets say, original software of when the w600 first came out. Using your own MP3s as ringtones have been blocked to reinforce ringtone downloading. I guess copyright laws are jumping in?
