The problem is, when I try to play MP4 or other video files that people claim are HD the audio is faster then the video. Sometimes the video is choppy. This happens on multiple different files from multiple different people (all from one torrent site). Unfortunately these are my computer specs. Are these files 720p or 1080p ? Your PC may be having trouble processing them because it's an older model and the cpu is quite a bit slower than today's average PC. Recreate the problem and open the task manager. Does the cpu approach 100 % ? Have you tried VLC as your player? There is an option on settings/ video codecs/x264 called "skip loop filter". If you select this, it may allow the video's to run a little smoother.
I do not know if they are 1080 or 720. Yes the CPU is pegged out at 100%. I have tried to use VLC. It is worse than WMP. Tried your setting change. Made it worse yet. Is there a way to down grade a HD file?? I converted one to DIVX. That worked but, took forever.
