I am using DVDFAB Platinum to convert my DVDs from VOB to MP4. On about half of the DVDs that I converted the audio is a second or so behind the video. How can I get the Video and Audio to match? Thanks
One way: If you have 'VLC' or 'Media Player Classic' installed you can check the delay factor by playing the video and use 'Ctrl k' or 'Ctrl l' to adjust the audio (VLC) or for 'MPC' the '+' or '-' keys on the keypad. Note the value (plus or minus) and and close the media player. Or you can guess the value. Load/drag the file into 'VirtualDub'. Click 'Audio' 'Interleaving' and insert the value (plus or minus)in the 'Skew Factor' then 'OK'. If you enter -1000, it means that the audio is behind the video by one second (1000 milliseconds) Click 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy' then 'File' 'Save as AVI'. Give the new file a name and save it. If you wish you can abort the save and check the part of the file that was saved to verify if it's ok, then resave again. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm
Thanks Attar I can't open a MP4 file with VirtualDub.exe. I was able to adjust the Audio timing with VLC however. How do I open a MP4 file with VirtualDub? Thanks
I'm sorry, I thought it was an AVI file - VirtualDub won't open mpeg4 and it can only save in avi anyway. I think 'AVIDemux' can load mpeg4 files. It has a 'shift' setting for the audio. On the left side of the window, the video and audio would be 'copy' and the 'format', mp4. You can select a clip with the slider and A/B buttons to test the correction.
