I bought a mp4 player from ugoole on ebay - its one of those Chinese players that is a fake 4GB and is actually 1GB. It has two small speakers on each side and a 1.5" screen. Other than that it was working fine except when I tried to upgrade the firmware - now it doesn't work - turns on and is stuck on the timer animation. I need the firmware for this player If anyone can please help me.

BWIAN, I can't really help you much with that but to say the little I know. I got one of the same ones, 4gb down to 1gb, I've got the same issue with the timer and nothing else, however this happened for no reason in my case. I read on one of the forums, probably best to start on mympxplayer.com, that there is a couple of pins you can connect inside and you might be able to fix it, i cant tell you where exactly I read this as I've forgotten, but go there and ask someone.

In my case I dont think I'll open it and do stuff becasue the slimey bastards will no doubt claim the warranty is void and that I could have damaged/changed the unit myself, I am claiming against them in paypal. But I would still be interested to know how you fix it if you manage to.

Please do what I'm doing which is sending messages to people who are bidding on the same or similar items in ebay (go to bidding history on an item, member profile, contact member) there is a limit to how many you can send each day. This is the only way we can stop this as ebay (bastards) dont give a shit about it, having known about the scam for at least weeks and there are new fake items listed all the time up to as I write this.

Hey, thanks for the reply - I've tried help from MYPXPLAYER but nothing has worked - UGOOLE have requested several times to have the player returned to them and they will send me a new one - well I did that 27/12/2006 - so now I will wait and see what happens - But now I am really worried that after I sent the item back they no longer exist on ebay and my emails to me are sent back with a 'non delivery notification.

I hope you sent that back by recorded delivery? You know why they say people should not send by recorded and only by normal post? As far s I can tell it must be because they will claim they never recieved the item back, and that will be the end of that. They will have your money and the player back, you will have nothing. Hopefully you did send it by recorded delivery and you have a docket. Either way, what you need to do now is open a dispute with ugoole in paypal, if they say "what's your problem, we agreed that you should send it back" tell them that you are opening the dispute because you have been in contact with other people who said ugoole claim they never recieved their returns (it's happened lots of times). Then maybe they will tell you they recieved it back, and if they don't, make a claim against them within the 20 days of opening the dispute.
