mp4 to divx/avi

    hi, i can't seem to convert my mp4 files to divx files or avi files. In xilisoft video converter i tell it to encode but 5 seconds later, it says complete and when i check the file, it only 8.64kb or something, which means it didn't convert. I don't know what to do. Can someone help me please?
