MPEG audio.

    hi there. I was just wondering, if it is possible to convert the some of the MPEG audio files that I have to MP3..??? just so that I can listen to those songs in my car or stereo. Ne suggestion on what software do I need or about the process..?? any help would be great..!! thanks...

    Software that should be able to do it:
    DBPowerAmp Music converter
    Nero Wave Editor/NeroMix (plugins - you need lame at http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org)
    foobar2000 with encoder plugin

    What kind of files are these MPEG audio exactly? (extension - *.mpg, ...?) MP3 IS MPEG 1 Layer III audio, MP4/AAC is the next generation of MPEG audio, MPEG 1 Layer II (mp2) can be read by many mp3 hardware players too.

    when i had some mpeg audio files i just changed the extension from .mpeg to .mp3,
