    Hello All,

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5 hi def camcorder. I don't have a blue ray player or plasma panel yet so I am trancoding to mpeg2 (the panel and player are months away).

The "HD writer" freeware that came with the camera allows basic editing and trancoding from AVCHD to mpeg2.

Unfortunately the audio of the output mpeg files has a problem. It wont play on Xbox media center, it reports the audio to be AC3.

Winamp 5.52 wont play the files. View file info reports
    AC3 Filter
    Dcsaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder
    MPEG-2 Demultiplexer

Winamp 5.35 plays the files well. View file info reports
    Fraunhofer Audio Decoder
    Fraunhofer video Decoder
    MPEG-2 Demultiplexer

TmpGenc mpeg tools reports a linear PCM 48KHz 2ch 1536kbps audio stream. If I demux the audio stream has zero size.

VirtualDubMod file information reports the audio as 48kHz stereo 4608kbps LPCM. Stream lists it as MPEG Audio stream. Demux fails.

So it would seem that audio is mpeg2 but some of the players can't se that.

Any ideas on how to fix these files while I wait for a fix from Panasonic would be most apreciated.
