    hi all ,

ive got a few mpg movies (home movies of course) that i would now like to put onto dvds, but i'm encountering a few problems.

I have copied the mpg's from disc (vcd .dat files) and im looking for some software that will encode/author/burn them onto dvd.

I have tried using tmpeg dvd author and it comes up with "can't load sfmpgdec.ddl" . I also tried Ulead DVDmovie factory 2 and i got an error whilst encoding.

can anyone please shed some light on what i need to put onto my system so that i can do this smoothly.

    current specs

    XP Pro
    xp2000
    1gig ddr 3200
    120gig main 80+60gig misc storage
    Pioneer 105

    cheers.

You Should be able to Do this with Tmpgenc DVD author, Have you tried the latest version cuz this is one of the Only Programs That I know of the Will Author Mpeg1 VCD Files to DVD..But you First have to De-Multiplex the audio from the VCD files and convert the sample Rate from 44100hz to 48000hz before they will be DVD compliant...I also Think that Sonic DVDit might accept Mpeg1 files also as Long as the audio is converted to 48000hz...Cheers
