I'm using Nero and it looks like I can only burn mpeg's to a CD-R/RW but not a DVD-R/RW. How can I put an MPEG file on a DVD? Thanks.

well this is where you need to go.

All file types need to be converted to mpeg2 before they are accessible to be burnt to a dvd movie format and then burnt to dvd.
Even though you say that your file is in an mpeg format now that could be mpeg1/2/4 etc.

If you download avicodec and run your file through it, it will 1stly tell you the properties of your file, and if you cant play it the codecs needed so that you can play it.

Once we have the properties of your file we can continue to suggest something to help you on your way
