Hi just wondering if anyone has any tips how to perform this conversion. These are small movies from my Sony Cybershot, that I am attempting to import into iMovie, and it will not allow me to do it. Any tips would be appreciated.

'This conversion'. I suppose you want to do MPG (352x288/240) --> AVI
    VirtualDub?
If I have understand well, the best settings are described in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfm (but since it teals with DVD ---> AVI, you can skip all steps up to 'CDEx'. VirtualDub will load a MPG, not a 'pseudo-AVI' file.
More, since you're converting a MPG, it already has MP2 224 kbps as sound, so MP3 CBR 128 kbps will be enough, and therefore in 'CDEx step chose 128 kbps, not 160 kbps.

To create the 'WAV' you need to convert to MP3, just open the file with VityualDub, coose Audio___Full Processing Mode, then File___Save WAV. You should get a 10.1 MB x lengh (in minutes) WAV file.
