Ok, so I am not tired of waiting 6+ hours on TMPGen. Will one of the hardware encoders work with this software and dramatically improve encoding time? Which one do you recommend? Using Dell 1.8 Pentium4, 640mb ram and XP Pro. Thanks!
Not aware of hw encoders that work with tmpgenc, but it does support multiple CPUs. Dual CPU systems works rather nicely with tmpgenc and cce. In my opinion, sw encoders produce a better quality video stream, particularly with VBR.
