I want to put a mpeg2 movie losslessly on dvd disc so that I can watch it on a dvd player. I want to do this losslessly because dvd video is already in mpeg2 form (vob). I very much prefer a free solution if possible or a solution with the Nero 6 I have. If I use Nero I want to make sure it doesn't convert with loss of quality. Lastly what is the highest audio bitrate that will play in dvd players? Is it 224kbps, 384kbps in AC3? Thanks!
I don't use Nero. DVD flick (freeware) and mpeg video wizard DVD (payware, however it works well) can use to create DVDs. Speaking of the highest bitrate, I did a google search and found that the highest bitrate of AC3 in DVD is 448kbps. Hope I found correct.
To expand on what 'angelay' said;if the input video is DVD compliant, use DVD Flick and under 'Project Settings' > 'Video' > 'Advanced' ensure that 'Copy MPEG-2 Streams' is checked.
bare bones? dvd-author .. a little more flash with many more options dvd-styler both free and will teach you how menus and things like chapter breaks actually work. Both allow chapters to be custom set not just 5 or 10 minutes.
