Hello group. Newbie here but only to dvd burning.
I've been doing vcd's for ages, bought a new NEC dual burner.

First off, I have a TON of Formula1/Champ Car clips etc. great quality. Now I have been using WinAVI 7.5 and Roxio Media Creator 7.5

I am just so dang confussed on something.
The goal: to get as many clips on a DVD to be played on a stand alone dvd player. From what I see, you have to convert all your stuff, just like VCD's for burning to dvd?

Here's where I'm really stumped. I take a 100mb avi and convert it to .vob, now the file is 500mb?! Also using Roxio (DVD Builder) I go and drag and drop maybe 5-6 100mb avi's and the 4.7gb's are already used up! Is this really happening?

If this is indeed true, how can I get more video files on a dvd with out reducing quality? Here I am thinking I'm gonna put 25 files on a DVD to view on a stand alone player and I can barely fit 6.

Sorry for the length here, I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks, looks like a great group of people here.

    So someone told me:

DVDShrink will shrink all of the files after I convert the originals into DVD format?! So thats how you cram these big hog files down to fit on to a single DVD?

I will be so stoked if true.
