I've recently downloaded an MPG file and I'm having some weird issues with it. The first time I played it, it worked fine from front to back. Any time after, it shows the total time, which should be over 20 minutes, as 52 seconds. But what drives me nuts is that if i skip ahead ahead on the bar, it will play the part that should be there if the full time were there, but only for a few seconds because it ends at 52 seconds. I know it's confusing, but any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

PS - I am using Windows Media Player

    Have you tried Projectx ?
It's a very comprehensive tool written in Java.

It's usually distributed in source, which you can compile on your
PC using the simple instructions. (you need Java installed first)

Or you find a pre-compiled version in various places.

Try Avidemux , it is a free and very useful application. After you are done loading the file, click save and choose a location. When you name the new video, make sure you type in the extension also(videoname.mpeg).
